Now Studying Interior Design
Well, I finally did it. I am now enrolled in studying for the Diploma in Interior Design. I have read through the first of the 12 modules and am about to start research for my first assignment. I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised with the content so far. I hope I do an excellent job with what is ahead.
“An interior is the natural projection of the soul”
I am going to be busy visiting galleries and museums and looking at display homes. In addition to being time-consuming, this sounds like a lot of fun. It is imperative that I begin to analyse spaces to decide if they are both aesthetically pleasing and functional. Interior design is about finding harmony which comes from all the senses, sight is the most significant one.
The biggest job of an interior designer is to solve problems that a space presents. I wander around my house and room by room I’m always imagining a different layout. I still haven't decided whether or not to tear down walls and which walls. Not all of them or maybe all of them. The options are countless and until I can decide, nothing will get done. This is part of the reason I have undertaken this study. It’s to see whether or not my ideas become clearer over time.
For now, I am preparing to do some research in order to get my first assignment started.
